This series is an extension of my earlier work relating to femininity and exploring the roles that women play in society. The cyanotype is a historical photographic process that sensitises natural fibres to sunlight, and is also known as 'blueprints' from being used to duplicate technical drawings.  Real objects were used as negatives to create these images, and every image is unique…

Karen Tenni is an artist, photographer, curator and community arts worker who completed Bachelor of Arts Honours at the Underdale campus of UniSA School of Art in 2004.  She an Artist-in-residence at the Parks Arts Complex, and teaches workshops in a variety of photography techniques, including photograms and cyanotypes.
